Womanhood is about more than just motherhood.
As a man, I can never understand the full scope of the feminine experience but I can endeavor to protect the rights that powerful women fought for over decades of civil service, and activism.
As a leader I hope to surround myself with women who can speak to the impacts that policy will have on their lives; and work hard to ensure that policies reflect the concerns and interests of the women in my community.
So far, I have heard that parental leave, reproductive healthcare, and voter protections are among the largest concerns for women in the Trump era, and I intend to ensure that all of these issues are among the highest of priorities for myself and my team.
