Water
Pennsylvania has among the most beautiful natural waterways, but beyond the surface lies a real problem for rural Americans; the lack of access to clean water. Many people in the 9th district are without direct access to city water supplies, most of those are connected to wells, which are often not potable leading many to have to buy water or access free supplies like local springs.
We have the ability to invest in infrastructure to connect more homes to reliable water supplies, to expand programs that help home owners build water reclamation and advanced filtration systems, and to ensure that families have access to among the most basic of human rights.
We also have an obligation to ensure that the water supply stays clean, by restricting fracking, development, and dumping. Many of our neighbors rely on their wells for their lives, and we can not allow corporations to taint or poison those wells with unsupervised projects.
