Reparations

from $0.00

Throughout American history we know that the path to today is paved with the sins of our forefathers, and the abuse of many groups.

Indigenous peoples, African slaves, and women.

None however can argue that the African slave and their descendants have not been the most abused, disenfranchised, and dehumanized group in our nation’s history.

For hundreds of years the American standard was African slaves; the separating of families, the rape of women, and the abuse of children were everyday realities of life in America. And even when it “ended” the suffering continued; as sharecropping, Jim Crow, and segregation became the new standard.

As a nation we owe it to the people we used to do our best to payback the debt of our intolerance.

I believe that reparations are a start to the process of healing, not an end goal to aspire to. Because, the pain inflicted on the descendants of the African slave and the members of the black community, manifested in the lack of generational wealth.

So my plan would see a program created to define a single upcoming generation (I would propose Generation Alpha born from 2010 to 2024) as the recipients of this program.

Any member of that generation, who has African ancestry, born in the United States, to at least one parent also born in the United States will be eligible to receive reparations.

Reparations will be paid to a recipient in 3 forms that they may choose upon turning 21.

First, they may choose an education at any public university completely free of charge. (Up to $200,000)

Second, they may choose a 0% Interest property loan. (Up to $200,000)

Third, they may choose a 0% Interest business loan. (Up to $200,000)

While none of these options fully payback the debt owed, they are a start to building the generational wealth that was lost over centuries of oppression.
