It is our responsibility to pass on a healthy and clean environment for our children; there is no corporate interest, no private right, no reason, that should ever take priority over our responsibility.

I would support changes to the tax code to greater incentivize companies to embrace green initiatives, while also raising the tax burden on companies that refuse. Because, if it is our responsibility to clean up their messes, then they must pay for that service.

Take for example a factory that emits massive CO2 emissions, science has evidence that those emissions are to blame for the extreme weather patterns that cause stronger hurricanes, droughts, and more that the government resultantly has to pay to address. Why then, do we allow companies to avoid the bulk of their tax responsibility while contributing the bulk of the detriment to our environment?
