Artificial Intelligence has become a hot topic of discussion, and with good reason. We are watching as the believability of AI content has grown to dangerously high levels. The ability for people to be manipulated, tricked, or scammed has never been higher. In addition, we see our leaders completely unable to legislate what may be the largest threat to our society.
I will lift Trump era restrictions on state’s ability to legislate Artificial Intelligence. I will propose legislation that would require A.I companies to provide 3rd party safety mechanisms that would allow for the A.I to be quickly deactivated if it were to go rogue, or be hijacked by criminal or foreign actors. I would also impose strict laws forbidding the programming of A.I to pursue, track, or commit violence against humans.
